Data Engineer
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Database Developer or similar role.
- Strong command and experience in SQL, including writing complex queries for data manipulation.
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in scripting for data processing and automation.
- Understanding of database management and data architecture principles.
- Experience with big data warehouse services such as BigQuery.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud engineering, with experience in platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience with transferring/transforming terabyte scale data (ETL processes).
- Deep understanding of database schema design (partitioning, clustering).
- Familiarity with data security best practices.
Nice to haves
- Understanding of software deployment processes and how to ensure they are seamless and efficient.
- Project management skills - setting realistic timelines and writing clear, concise tasks for team members.
- Knowledge of Apache Spark or similar big data processing frameworks.
- Experience in data pipeline building and data wrangling.
- Certifications related to data management systems or cloud platforms.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
